to the following Maryville High School (9-12) Band students who auditioned for and earned a spot in the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association Senior Clinic Bands. These students competed against more than 2000 student musicians from across East Tennessee to earn this prestigious honor.
The Maryville Band students earned a total of 41 Senior Clinic spots (some earning multiple spots).
A special congratulations also to the 11 students who scored high enough to make the Tennessee All-State Band! This is a huge honor, and we are so proud of these hard-working students!
In order to remain eligible for TN Promise, you will be required to view a short, TN Promise virtual webinar. This webinar will include all of the important information pertaining to your TN Promise scholarship eligibility.
You must view the webinar by February 1, 2022 to remain eligible for TN Promise.
Viewing the webinar is a two-step process as you must first create your tnAchieves CONNECT account. tnAchieves CONNECT is an online platform that you will use to communicate with your volunteer mentor and the tnAchieves team. CONNECT also houses your mandatory meeting webinar.
You should have received an email from TN Achieves on November 8, 2021 providing step by step instructions and a student link to allow you to create your account. Don't have this email anymore? Follow this link:
Once your account is set up, you should see the box below at the top of your homepage. Remember, you MUST view the webinar in its entirety before February 1, 2022 or you will lose access to the TN Promise scholarship.
No room to schedule Senior Transition or College Success this year? MHS school counselors HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to attend a presentation after school on Wednesday, September 1 from 3:30-4:00 in the Ed Harmon room. We'll cover things like how to apply to college, send a transcript, apply for financial aid, and search for scholarships. This meeting is crucial, particularly if you plan to attend a four-year university after high school graduation. See you then!
Once again, we'll be using SCOIR for our college planning platform and our document submission tool for the Class of 2022. Transcripts must be sent through SCOIR! All seniors have a SCOIR account tied to their MHS student email. Most of our seniors have registered with SCOIR. Those who have not received an email on Friday, August 13 inviting them to join SCOIR. Please get this account set up ASAP! Already have an account but having trouble logging in? Remember that your MHS email address is the username. If you've forgotten the password, access the "forgot password" link here: https://app.scoir.com/forgot_password. After that account is set up, please change your primary email address to a personal one on the "Personal Details" screen. This process facilitates easy communication with college reps whose emails may be blocked by the MHS email system. Still having trouble logging in? See Mary Beth Martin in guidance for help!
