The play is based on the best-selling novel of the same name which centers on a teenage boy with Asperger's syndrome.  When the play begins, the main character Christopher discovers that the neighbor's dog has been murdered and he decides he will investigate to find the murderer.  His investigating leads him on a solo journey to London from his home a few hours away, where he discovers the truth about his mother, his father and his ability to overcome adversity.  The play won 5 Tony Awards in 2015, including Best Play, and 6 Drama Desk Awards, including Outstanding Play.  The book received many awards, including being named in the Top 20 of The Guardian's 100 Best Books of the 21st Century.
