Items Made on the Cricut

To use the Cricut:

• You need a Cricut Design Space Account.
• You can either:
  • make your own personal (free) account  
  • sign in to the MHS Library account (ask a librarian or visit the Cricut page on Canvas for login info)

  • On the Cricut, you can make:

  • vinyl decals for mugs/cups/Yetis
  • shirts with heat-transfer vinyl designs
  • removable vinyl for walls
  • stencils 
  • lots of other items
    • you can cut leather (Cricut leather), make cards, write on paper/cards with Cricut pens
    • cut fabric
    • write on fabric
    • watch videos for more ideas!

  • We have these Cricut accessories:

  • Heat-transfer vinyl (HTV) (several colors)
  • Removable Vinyl (many colors)
  • fabric
  • Cricut pens (several colors)
  • Cricut Easy Press (heat press to transfer HTV to clothing)
  • Transfer tape
  • Blue stencil vinyl

  • Cricut Design Space must be downloaded or can be accessed on the laptop beside the Cricut.

3D Printer

--free to use, but please see a librarian 1st

--look up pre-made designs on Thingiverse.com

From Thingiverse--download the specific file (on the bottom of the page, NOT the top right 'all files'

Import into Cura (find by searching Cura)

3D Pens

• Please ask a librarian for help the 1st time!
• Make sure your pen is plugged in and turned on to either 'PLA' or 'ABS'
  • You will need to know which filament you are using (PLA or ABS) in order to know which to set it to
• Make sure you only draw/create on the plastic sheet provided--if you need more, please ask
• Do not touch the tip to your skin or anyone else's
• Have fun and be creative!

You must complete a mini-training session with a librarian before using the sewing machine.

Please let us know if you need to change thread color, and please let us wind a bobbin for you. 

There are many fabrics to choose from, and there are lots of sewing patterns you can use available in the Sewing folder.

Also, check Pinterest or Google for more free patterns! We are happy to help you read the pattern or if you get confused. 

We have 3 soldering irons.

If you use them please use protective gloves and goggles.

We have lots of tools on the pegboard. 

You may use them, but be careful and think about your project. Ask questions if you have them. The power supply to the PowerDrill is near the Video Equipment. If we are lacking some supplies, please let us know. 

Greenscreen - can use it and green blanket (please refold after use)

Desktop has Photoshop and Premiere Video Editing Software.

Recording tips

Can use:

• Cell phone
• Camcorder (bigger one—in Makerspace)
  • Turn it on
  • Connect to power (w/ cord or use a battery)
  • Take off lens cover & shoot
  • Connect USB to laptop to retrieve video
• Small camcorder (ask a librarian to get for you)
  • Ask a librarian to check one out
  • Turn it on
  • If not charged, hook up to power
  • Connect USB (which you must remove from electrical adaptor) to laptop to retrieve video

-there is an SD reader in Ms. Braun’s possession for ease of transferring

          -there is a learning curve to use this advanced software, but feel free to try

Mixcraft Software is available on the desktop. The keyboard is linked into the desktop. You can also use a microphone. 

Mixcraft software is advanced and difficult to use. Feel free to explore and learn how to use it.
