Maryville College

MARYVILLE COLLEGE LINK. For students who are wishing to pursue college courses at Maryville College, they should look under Current Students, then Student Services for Schedule of Courses to determine which courses of interest will best fit the Maryville High School schedule. 

1.Students who are wishing to pursue college courses at Maryville College should start by looking at Maryville College's Schedule of Courses to determine if a course or courses will meet the Maryville High School schedule.

2. When the student finds the course of interest that does fit the M.H.S. schedule, the next step is to complete an application. For Maryville College, the application process begins at this site: http://www.maryvillecollege.edu/admissions/apply/dual-enrollment/

3. Prospective Maryville College students should also download the Hepatitis B form. This form must be completed and signed by both student and parent and returned to Mrs. Burchfield in room 331 by Friday, March 2, 2018. Please see the link at the bottom of the page.

4. In order to receive the dual enrollment grant, students must complete the dual enrollment grant application. This must be done on-line, and the link is found below. Students must complete this grant application themselves as there are security questions that must be answered. Students must complete the grant for Fall/2018, and/or Spring 2019, and the college to which the grant should be sent should be Maryville College. Please complete the grant application completely and accurately. It is difficult to make changes. Please print a copy of the dual enrollment grant application and return to Mrs. Burchfield in room 331 by Friday, March 2, 2018. Remember, this is a scholarship for each class.

PELLISSIPPI STATE

PELLISSIPPI STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE LINK:   From the Home Page, students will select Admissions at the top of the page. Students will then select High School / Dual Enrollment. The Dual Enrollment page explains the steps involved in taking dual enrollment courses at PSCC. 

If students wish to take dual enrollment courses at PSCC, they must complete all steps on this page.
 
1. Students must apply to PSCC. Students should give a copy of their application to Mrs. Burchfield at M.H.S in room 331 by Friday, March 2, 2018.
 
2. Students must complete the Hepatitis B form and give a copy of this form to Mrs. Burchfield at M.H.S in room 331 by Friday, March 2, 2018.
 
3. Students must apply for the Dual Enrollment Grant. This can be completed on this site, or students may click on the site listed below. Students should also give a copy of the grant application to Mrs. Burchfield at M.H.S in room 331 by Friday, March 2, 2018.
 
4. In order to receive the dual enrollment grant, students must complete the dual enrollment grant application. This must be done on-line, and the link is found below. Students must complete this grant application themselves as there are security questions that must be answered. Students must complete the grant for Fall/2017, and/or Spring/2018, and the college to which the grant should be sent should be Pellissippi State Community College. Please complete the grant application completely and accurately. It is difficult to make changes.
 
Remember, students receive 2 full grants and then $200 toward a third course.

After students have been admitted to Pellissippi and all documents have been submitted, including transcript, ACT scores, and Hepatitis B form, students must then establish a userid and a password for use in "MyPellissippi." Instructions for establishing a userid and password are found under documents and entitled Pellissippi Login and Password. If students would like to peruse course availability, they may do this by returning to the Home Page and selecting Current Students. From the Current Students page under Quick Links, students would click Course Schedule. Students would then need to choose a term and submit. Students would choose a subject area of study and the Blount County Center and submit. From this site, students can see days and times of courses offered. Also, students can see course availablity from the Dual Enrollment site.
 
Students wishing to take Biology 1110 and/or Psychology 1030 will need to register for the courses with Maryville High School beside the course name. These classes have been established to follow the Maryville High bell schedule.

UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE

UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE KNOXVILLE LINK:   Maryville High School students wishing to take dual enrollment classes at The University of Tennessee must have a 3.0 grade point average, a 19 on all components of the ACT, and they must complete all steps of the dual enrollment admission process on The University of Tennesse website.

This site will directly link to The University of Tennessee's admission page.
 
Students will scroll down, and on the left of the page, they should click on "Apply." Students will then choose "Other Applicants," and then they will choose "Dual Enrollment."
 
A student who is a Tennessee resident will:

1.  Complete and submit online the Dual Enrollment Grant, which can be found at this link: https://www.tn.gov/collegepays/money-for-college/tn-education-lottery-programs/dual-enrollment-grant.html
 
2. Print and have the Dual Credit Academic Verification Form completed and mailed to the Admissions Office by a high school official. There is also a link for this form below.

Students must complete this grant application themselves as there are security questions that must be answered. Students must complete the grant for Fall/2018, and/or Spring/2019, and the college to which the grant should be sent should be The University of Tennessee. Please complete the grant application completely and accurately. It is difficult to make changes. Remember, students may use two grants per term.

4.  Students should give a copy of the Dual Enrollment Grant Application and the Dual Credit Academic Verification Form to Mrs. Burchfield in room 331 by Friday, March 2, 2018.
