  • Must be at least 16 years of age when the program starts.
  • Reliable transportation to work and school.

how does it work?

  • TVYA connects qualified students with participating employers.
  • Employers interview and hire students.
  • Students begin employment (with scalable pay) while taking high school and college courses.

what results can I expect?

Depending on the pathway you select, including culinary, construction, health science, information technology, or manufacturing, your outcomes will vary.  Generally, you can expect ... 

  • to earn your high school diploma and possibly college credit,  while working.  
    • In some cases, employers may offer tuition incentives for employed student workers.
  • to receive certification in your field of study.
  • to earn any available professional credentials assigned to your pathway from the U.S. Department of Labor.
  • to complete up to two years of on-the-job training and experience in your new profession.
